Come by the hills to the land
where fancy is free. And stand
where the peaks meet the sky
and the rocks reach the sea.
Where the rivers run clear and the
bracken is gold in the sun.
And cares of tomorrow must wait
till this day is done.

general information you need.
The Mohonk Preserve
Located just 90 miles north of New York City, the Mohonk Preserve
provides visitors access to over 6,500 acres in the Shawangunk
Mountains – including cliffs, forests, fields, ponds, and streams – and
to a network of over 100 miles of carriage roads and trails for hiking,
running, mountain biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing.
Also, the internationally renowned “Gunks” cliffs offer over 1,000
technical rock climbing routes.
Minnewaska State Park
The Minnewaska State Park Preserve is a 14,500 acre preserve located
on the Shawangunk Ridge in New York on US 44/NY 55, five miles (8
km) west of NY 299, near New Paltz, New York. The park is managed
by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission. It is primarily used for
picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and swimming. There
are outstanding views of the nearby Catskill Mountains.

hour of the Woodstock / Kingston exit off I-87.
Sky Diving at "The Ranch" in Gardiner
"Let one of our experienced tandem instructors take you for the rush
of a lifetime with confidence. With no worries about the technical
aspect of the equipment, all you will need is a 15 minutes training
from your instructor and you will be ready to throw yourself out the
airplane."
Town Tinker Tube Rental in Phoenicia
"Since the days of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, the image of floating
down a river on a hot summer day has always created a sense of
adventure.
Located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains is a five-mile stretch of
river that has become one of the most popular tubing courses
around. People come from all over to ride the rapids and drift with
the current as the Esopus Creek winds through the beautiful
mountains and greenery of the Catskills.
If you've never tubed before, head for the Town Tinker Tube Rental
headquarters on Bridge St. in Phoenicia, NY. There the expertly
trained Town Tinker staff will rent you all the equipment you need, as
well as giving you tubing instructions and safety tips."
G. Steve Jordan Gallery & www.mohonkimages.com
Steve Jordan's photographs, as you can see, are mesmerizingly
beautiful. He was so kind as to let me use some of them for this web
site. He has an online store as well as a gallery in the Waterstreet
Market in the heart of New Paltz.
Woodstock Film Festival
"...celebrate and support the coolest event in the Hudson Valley,
namely the Woodstock Film Festival, which is becoming known
around the country as a TRUE film festival, honoring the
independent, artistic spirit. It’s not like those other film festivals
swarming with agents in Prada texting on Blackberrys during
screenings. Here, people actually WATCH the films, and LOVE them
(plus, there’s the food, the music, the town, the history, the perfect
scenery)." -Ron Nyswaner, Academy-Award nominated screenwriter
(The Painted Veil, Soldier's Girl, Philadelphia) and author of Blue Days.
Black Nights
Catskills - Center for Conservation and Development
The Catskill Mountain region lies primarily within Delaware, Greene,
Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties in southeastern New
York State. The Catskill mountains are often termed ‘America’s First
Wilderness’, and they have a long and colorful history. The region was
the setting for the adventures of native Americans, European
explorers, hunters, trappers, and settlers, artists, writers, fishermen,
vacationers, entrepreneurs; people who exploited the land, and people
who revered the land...
The Country Inn
My favorite Restaurant. Pete and Diane serve New York City quality
food and, in addition, have about 120 beers to choose from. A great
place for weekenders to mingle with locals, sit at the bar, enjoy
excellent food and a very cosy atmosphere. Open Wednesday through
Sunday.
Ulster Savings Bank
It is, in my opinion, a very smart idea to use a local bank for your loan.
Ulster Savings has competitive rates, lots of programs to choose from
and, most of all, they get things done quickly. They also know the
local market very well. Give Barbara Zulo a call for a consultation. Her
number is 845 338-6322 x 3244.
